Courses

SGCU provides full time day courses and training for experts-gemmologists. The programme of the courses presents five directions of professinal education and improvement of qualification in the sphere of precious and decorative stones, in particular, in certification and evaluation of the stones and providing of gemmological examination services.

Course 1. Grading and examination of diamonds

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of mounted and loosed, natural and synthetic polished gem-quality diamonds of the round, fancy, "old" and other kind of shapes as well as in determination of artificials and imitations of diamonds.
Duration of the course - 4 weeks.

Course 2.Grading and examination of precious stones

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of polished precious stones of the gem quality (except diamonds); determination of synthetic analogues, artificials and imitations of the precious stones; reconstruction of the laboratory synthesis methods of the synthetic analogues.
Duration of the course - 4 weeks.

Course 3.Grading and examination of precious stones
of organogenic origin

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of natural and cultured, sea and river water, treated pearls, imitations of pearls as well as treated and reconstructed amber, methods of its reconstruction.
Duration of training - 1 week.

Course 4. Grading and examination of gem stones.

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of gems stones; specifying of ecological safety and conditions of usage of the gems stones; determination of varieties of gem corals, ivory, nacre, other organic gem materials and their imitations as well as imitations of gems stones.
Duration of training - 1 week.

Course 5. Grading and examination of decorative stones

The training course provides specialization in grading and examination of raw and processed rocks being used for architectural and building purposes for production of wares of exterior and interior decoration, monumental art, elements of landscape architecture, road-street building etc; determination of quality and technological level of decorative stones processing.
Duration of training - 1 week.

At the end of the Program, if completed successfully,(rulls of exames) the standard "Certificate" is issued.
