Abstract. The use of decorative stone in the finishing of buildings and structures involves the assessment of its durability, which determines its suitability for use in construction, interior and exterior architecture, landscaping, etc.

Keywords: carbonate natural stones, decorative stones of carbonate composition, forecasting the durability of natural stones, the service life of natural stones.
